City of Troy – Big Beaver Corridor Study

The Big Beaver Corridor Study in Troy, Michigan was a multi-disciplinary plan that looked to transform an auto-dominated suburban corridor into a place with a walkable City Center and more appealing corridor sub-districts.  It also encouraged lining in the frontage of the roadway with new construction, filling underutilized parking spaces and open space with new development.  The City amended its zoning code to implement the plan and new construction has invigorated this corridor, even during the Great Recession.
